Openwork Crochet Star Stitch
No matter if you’re just practicing with a swatch or diving into a bigger project, here’s some information to keep in mind before you start:
This tutorial uses USA crochet terms.
Skill level: easy
Stitch multiple: 16 + 4
Row Multiple: 8 row-repeat pattern (2-9)
Materials
- Yarn: I used medium-weight (#4) for this openwork crochet star stitch tutorial. However, lightweight yarns, such as DK (#3) and Fine (#2), are the best options for crochet lace stitches.
- Crochet Hook: a smaller hook will create a better stitch definition. The dark blue swatch was crocheted with a 2.75 mm (US C) hook and DK yarn.
- Stitch markers: they help keep track of stitch and row count.
- Tapestry needle to weave in the ends.
- Scissors
