Why crochet your own bowl holders? There are so many great reasons! When crocheted with cotton yarn, they’re microwave-safe and perfect for everyday use. They protect your hands from hot bowls, and they’re just as handy for enjoying cold treats like ice cream.

What type of yarn should I use for this crochet bowl cozy?

For best results, use good quality 100% cotton yarn. Cotton is heat-resistant and microwave-safe, making it ideal for projects that will be used with hot food.

How can I make these bowl holders microwave-safe?

As long as you use 100%, good-quality cotton yarn and avoid any synthetic fibers, these crochet bowl cozies are usually microwave-safe for reheating food.

What bowl sizes does this pattern fit?

The pattern includes instructions for three different bowl sizes. You can also easily adjust the size by adding or subtracting rounds to fit your favorite bowls.

Can I wash my crochet bowl cozy?

Absolutely! These bowl cozies are machine washable. For best results, wash in cold or warm water and lay flat or tumble dry on low.

Crochet Bowl Cozy Easy Pattern

This bowl holder was designed using a pentagon construction method, crocheted in the round, with strategic increases for the base and a combination of increases and decreases to shape the sides. The result is a sturdy, well-fitting cozy with a lovely structure.

I’ve included instructions for three different bowl sizes, and it’s easy to customize if you need a slightly different fit. Best of all, this project is fun to make and features a gorgeous textured stitch that you’ll love working with.
