This basket works up surprisingly fast—you may find yourself making several for every room in your home. In fact, I crocheted all three sample baskets in less than two hours.
The pattern is worked as one seamless piece, starting with a magic circle and continuing from the bottom up in continuous rounds. You’ll crochet increase rounds for the base, followed by plain single crochet plus one 3-single-crochet increase rounds to shape the body and the “tear”. There are no joins, no visible seams, and no sewing.
The hanging loop is built directly into the basket as you finish, and you can add an optional decorative edging for a clean final touch.
